Situated in Zhuhai, Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) was jointly founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).

UIC is the first full-scale cooperation in higher education between the Mainland and Hong Kong. Its charter has been approved by the Ministry of Education with full support from local authorities.

UIC shoulders the historical mission of advancing the internationalization of Chinese higher education and taking the lead in implementing liberal arts education in China. Since its first enrollment in 2005, UIC has grown into an international institution with innovative educational approaches.

Twenty-three undergraduate programmes are currently being offered by four divisions: namely, the Division of Business and Management, the Division of Culture and Creativity, the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Division of Science and Technology. UIC has extended its enrollment of Category 1 candidates from 30 provinces and municipalities in mainland China. There are more than 6000 undergraduate students now, including those from Hong Kong, Taiwan and overseas. Teaching staff from more than 30 countries and regions make it possible for UIC to use English as the medium of instruction. Graduates will be awarded Bachelor’s Degrees by HKBU and Graduation Certificates by UIC.

UIC established the Graduate School in 2017 and started to offer Postgraduate Programmes, including Taught Master’s Programmes in addition to Research Postgraduate Programmes that lead to MPhil or PhD degrees. Degree certificates from HKBU will be awarded upon completion.

The Public Relations and Advertising Programme at UIC is probably the only one in Chinese tertiary education to integrate public relations and advertising as one programme with a liberal arts education approach. It enjoys high popularity among the students. As the programmes grows, we are looking for professor/associate professor/assistant professor to contribute to the vibrant composition of the faculty.

UIC now invites candidates for this position which is expected to be filled in February 2022: Job Description 

Candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Public Relations (theory, writing, crisis communication, campaign, etc.), Media Planning, Event Planning, Integrated Marketing Communication, Digital Media, Consumer Behavior, Advertising.

The position will include teaching in the Public Relations and Advertising Program, supervising capstone projects, advising undergraduate and graduate students, and providing service to the department and the university.Job Requirement 

Candidates should hold a PhD in a related discipline. Relevant industrial experience is highly valued. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in teaching and research. Preference will be given to candidates who can undertake independent research leading to outstanding outcomes, including publications in high quality international-refereed journals. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and research accomplishments.Benefits

Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Continuation of appointment beyond the initial term will be subject to mutual agreement.
